Oncology Pharmacist
Compensation: $140K–$165K depending on oncology experience, BCOP certification, and clinical depth
Location: Fresno, CA, On-Site
Summary
Our client, a premier healthcare organization focused on cancer care and infusion services, is seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join their interdisciplinary clinical team. This role plays a critical part in optimizing therapeutic outcomes through personalized medication management, patient education, and collaboration across oncology-focused healthcare teams.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and manage comprehensive medication therapy plans for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Collaborate with oncologists, hematologists, pharmacy technicians, infusion nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment regimens
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust medication plans as needed
• Provide patient education on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care medications
• Conduct medication reconciliation to prevent drug interactions and ensure treatment accuracy
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to support coordinated patient care
• Offer support and counseling to patients and families regarding treatment plans and potential side effects
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and clinical protocols
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Provide drug information and therapeutic recommendations to healthcare practitioners
Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution
• Active pharmacist license in the state of practice
• Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP)
• PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience required
• PGY-2 residency training in oncology pharmacy or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical pharmacy experience, preferably in oncology or hematology
• Advanced knowledge of chemotherapy regimens and supportive care protocols
• Experience with generic, brand, and biosimilar oncology medications
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics related to oncology and hematology treatments
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
